Hart's Craft Fair

   Some quick shots of my TreeCookies display, at the fair last Sunday. I wish I took more photos, but had lots of fun. Hart's Fabric is quite an amazing fabric store. So happy they decided to throw this little fair in the parking lot, and will have to go back (to shop) sometime, real soon.

late night crafting

   My BF was representing his school at a music production conference last weekend, and was looking for some of the old business cards I had made him, awhile back. I wanted to update his info, so I offered to make him new cards. It took a little longer, than expected, but this is what I made.

   I used my handy customizable stamp set and knew I wanted to incorporate a stamp from my collection, as well. It took me a minute or two because I thought it would be cool to use one of my hand carved blocks. They were just way too "cutesy." Then, I knew exactly which one to use. 
   BF and I are based out of the SF Bay Area, so I thought the (Golden Gate) Bridge would be perfect. And, it was! I can''t recommend Yellow Owl Workshop, enough. See here, here and here. I love all their awesome products. I am only half way through Print Workshop, and have a ton of bookmarked projects, already. If you haven't seen the book, or any of the projects circulating the internet, you gotta check it out. Not only is there tons of amazing DIY's, but the book is extremely informative. Especially for someone like me, who loves printing by hand.
   The Bridge adds a nice touch, to the cards, and works well since we are also big SF Giants fans.

   What do yah think? I've been wanting to take that shot for awhile, and I'm happy to finally get it done. It was a beautiful week, here in San Jose. I enjoyed it for every one of you stuck in the middle of snow.

Wow-did this holiday season fly. I'm glad today is going slower than usual. It is Christmas after all.

I didn't have the right ribbon color for my first gift, so I went straight for my big bag-o-yarn! And used pieces throughout the season. Noel gift tags from Eat Drink Chic and some cute Camilla Engman tags, all free to download.

Christmas morning at the Creek..Time to take it easy and enjoy being with loved ones.

Wild.

   From the very beginning of Spike Jonze` Where the Wild Things Are, I was drawn in. Right at that moment, I was Max. As Max runs away from his life, and away from the tribulations that come with it, you're brought to a strange and magical ( yet, very familiar) place. The perfect adaptation of Maurice Sendaks' Where the Wild Things Are.

   When I was a kid, I was always a little scared of the monsters in the book. And you kinda get scared of the "monsters" in the film, too. Mr. Jonze and Dave Eggers were able to capture all the different emotions a young kid is going through in a very beautiful and very real way. The blue-ray is out March 2nd, and I can't wait to add it to the collection.


I wonder what the best age would be, for my "future kid" to watch it? :)

oh, San Francisco. .

.. how beautiful you are.

More digital photographs, I had saved on my desktop. Not ready to file away in its appropriate folder, quite yet. At least.. not until, I have a a chance to showcase some favorites from a recent outing with girlfriends. So many cool little places, in every corner. We were on the hunt for some "new home" furniture, with a dash of "paper-chasing", along the way.

BF's b-day card

As much as I love making cards for friends and family, I love purchasing super awesome cards for BF Ruben. I guess, that way I still have the cool "mini prints" in my life. Then, I can frame or display them, later on, for the both of us. .. but, mostly for me?! Is that bad? RedCap produces some of my favorites. Even though Ruben's not blond, I adore the drawing of the couple and the beautifully subdued ink colors. The "I love you" part reminds me of my own style of writing.

The card on the bottom is part of a stationery set (also, by RedCap), that I had been eyeing for the longest time, and finally bought. I heart hot air balloons.

New Years Resolution #6:

Buy (& pick) more flowers.

jealous?

Last week: "Turn around, I'm ordering your Christmas present (online)"- BF, ruben. I had no idea what he was getting me. 2 days ago: The shipped box lay on my laptop. "Should I wait until Christmas to open it?"... "Oh, what the hell!" Three cloth wrapped ..things ( I didn't know what), labeled seascape, landscape and winterscape. As I shook the parcel, I knew immediately. "..all three of them!?" 

These are so beautiful! Thanks to the Curiosity Shoppe.. where I first fell in love with yellow owl workshop. think about good people, simple things in life.. don't let stress get to you, especially this time of year. i heart my jigah, ruben.
