Over at...

Anthropologie, I found these beautifully detailed "From the Sea" dishes. Kitchenware is, seriously, one of my most favorites because I loove to cook. My fondness for pretty packages and presentation doesn't help, either. Do you see that cool embossed anchor? I could just imagine serving shrimp cocktail on one of the dishes. Key words, "just imagine".. For bf Ruben and I are "on a budget", and planning to move to a new city in the next year or two.

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (hearts)

   Have you heard of this show? The animation reminds me of Ren & Stimpy, but totally different. Always, with tons of laughter and wonderment.
   Created by cartoonist, Thurop Van-Orman.. It's a story of Flapjack, who is raised by a talking whale named Bubbie. Add in the offbeat Captain K'nuckles, and they're off on fun adventures on the sea and off. There's silly Peppermint Larry and Candy Wife, and "The Most Beautiful Man in the World" catchphrase (teehee), and really CLOSEUP closeups. The water is drawn really cool, and I really dig the the claymation scenes... Oh, and Flapjack and K'Nuckles LOVE candy!

Waking up early tomorrow, to see Alice.  I'm quite excited.

Wild.

   From the very beginning of Spike Jonze` Where the Wild Things Are, I was drawn in. Right at that moment, I was Max. As Max runs away from his life, and away from the tribulations that come with it, you're brought to a strange and magical ( yet, very familiar) place. The perfect adaptation of Maurice Sendaks' Where the Wild Things Are.

   When I was a kid, I was always a little scared of the monsters in the book. And you kinda get scared of the "monsters" in the film, too. Mr. Jonze and Dave Eggers were able to capture all the different emotions a young kid is going through in a very beautiful and very real way. The blue-ray is out March 2nd, and I can't wait to add it to the collection.


I wonder what the best age would be, for my "future kid" to watch it? :)

P.S. The movies soundtrack is dope.

I love the setting and odd happenings goin` on. I've, also, been posting some daily web findings on my tumblr. <3 hearts.

I am thankful for...

store bought pie & home-made whipped cream.


It only took a couple of minutes.. . . . With my hand held mixer (and whisk attachment), I blended a half pint of whipping cream, until it thickened slightly. Then, I added a tablespoon of powdered sugar, a dash of vanilla extract, and continued mixing. When you pull the whisk away, and see the soft peak..  the whipped cream is ready! Just enough for one pie.


This was a great ending to a fun Thanksgiving with my family. And a wonderful start to this holiday season. I'll be back soon, with a review on a fantastic film, I saw this past weekend.
